Friday as I am preparing to get ready for a fantastic night of Girl power, chatting and drinking, I get a phone call from School. . . . . Fiona, Caleb has had an accident and he may need stitches.
Ok I am on my way.
I arrived at school was greeted by staff and advised that it is quite bad and to prepare myself.
Yep they were right.
So via ambulance we head off to the children's hospital where my boy was amazingly brave and strong as they put 7 (or more the surgeon lost count) stitches internally and then another 14 externally to put him all back together again.
He was completely amazing in the way he handled it all with no complaint except that he was hungry.
He had been playing soccer in the tennis court and while running for the ball ran into the tennis net pole with the handle to adjust it landing fair and square across his eyebrow. We are so thankful that he missed his eye.
Caleb is still travelling well and the biggest problem now is the frustration of not being allowed to do all the things he loves like bike riding, soccer, cricket, swimming. So they are all on the no go list for a while. I don't know how long I will hold off on them all I am just hoping his head has a chance to heal before he puts it in harms way again.
